New ‘paperless’ Dubai rental platform to provide tenants Ejari contract in ‘few minutes’
A new “digital and paperless” property rental platform has been launched by Dubai Asset Management, a member of Dubai Holding, it announced on Sunday.
The rollout of phase one of the platform – claimed to be the first in Dubai – is now operational.
The system, developed in partnership with Smart Dubai, is accessible via DubaiNow, a platform available as a website and a mobile app that integrates the services of government and private sector, a statement said.
Tenants can browse through the company’s portfolio and complete five services online including finding a home, registering and signing the tenancy contract, arranging Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) utility services, signing up for landline, cable TV and home internet services with telecom company du, and raising maintenance requests.
All the services are linked to a digital tenancy contract, enabled by UAE Pass, a national digital identity solution.
Tenants will receive their Ejari tenancy contract “within a few minutes” after the completion of the digital application, the statement added.
Dubai Asset Management owns and manages a portfolio of 10 residential communities including Al Khail Gate, Ghoroob, Shorooq, Remraam, Layan and Dubai Wharf, among others, which house over 100,000 people.
Arif Mubarak, CEO of Dubai Asset Management, said: “We are proud to partner with Smart Dubai and roll out the first digitally integrated paperless customer experience in the real estate sector that allows tenants to complete rental transactions online.”
The move is part of the Dubai paperless strategy, which seeks to transfer all applicable government transactions to digital platforms by 2021.
Phase one of the strategy saw paper consumption reduced across the six participating entities by 57 per cent.
At present, the Dubai leadership has directed eight government entities – Dubai Courts, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Public Prosecution, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority, Dubai Airports and Dubai Customs – to begin implementing phase two.
